Eagle Nebula
Astrophotography
The Eagle Nebula (M16) is an emission nebula and star-forming region located about 7,000 light-years away in the constellation Serpens. It's best known for the iconic "Pillars of Creation", towering columns of gas and dust, where new stars are actively forming. The nebula spans around 70 light-years and glows due to ultraviolet radiation from young, massive stars in the embedded open cluster NGC 6611. These stars both illuminate and erode the surrounding gas, shaping the nebula’s dramatic appearance
