Artist statement

I work on Wall Street, where the flow of time is visceral and pounded into the senses every moment. Photography opens the senses to a very different experience of time. Standing in a landscape waiting for the right light, watching a bird for hours to capture a few seconds of flight, or spending an entire night following the movement of stars and nebulae creates a relationship with time that is fundamentally different from the one I knew professionally. Photography is about surrender to a rhythm with a very different beat. In those moments, the process is the experience and the photographs are what remain. But the real gift is the seeing.
